WindTalkers Knife

Stunt Cavalry Saddle

Our inventory includes many items that if thrown out, would have forever been lost and never seen again.
One such item is a Cavalry Saddle used by a Stuntman.
Two handle grips attached to the back of the saddle allowed the stuntman to hold on while being dragged across a fast flowing river by his stunt horse.
Another item is a Chest & Back Protector worn by a Stuntman in which a small wooden insert was attached and worn under the shirt.
Then an Arrow was shot into the wood during an Indian Battle Scene of which the Stunt Actor would then play dead.
Any misplaced shot of the arrow would have certainly lead to a serious injury.
We have a full Cavalry Uniform worn in the classic western "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon".
We have Two Saloon Dresses and a Side Saddle used by actress "Amanda Blake" of whom played Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke.
Assorted props such as Cavalry Canteens, Knives and Guns add to the display.
This year we were fortunate to receive 1 of 6 "Holy Grail Tablets" that were used on screen in the production of "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
There are just too many items to list here, but we try to find and save as much as we can from the movies, many that were filmed right here in the State of Utah.
Most of the early westerns were filmed in and around the towns of Moab and Kanab.
John Ford really liked the beauty and scenery of the Monument Valley area as well as the red cliffs located in the state.
We also have in our collection the Famous Knife used in many scenes from the motion picture.. "WindTalkers"..
We have recently received a Stunt Saddle from the 2001 version of "Planet of the Apes".
Also, we have a "Spittoon" used in the "Saloon Scene" from the motion picture "Rio Lobo" starring John Wayne.

Amanda Blake's Side Saddle

Side Saddle given to Amanda Blake {Miss Kitty} by Producer James Arness {Marshall Dillon} and used on the Television Series "Gunsmoke"

Stunt Chest & Back Protector with Arrow
This Stunt Chest & Back Protector was found in an old trunk out in my grandfathers horse barn.
It still has a tag from the MGM Studios and was used by my Grandfather & Uncle on many of the movies that they did stunts for over their many years involved in the movie industry.

Stunt Saddle from 2001 Planet of the Apes

In August of 2007, we were fortunate enough to receive one of the Stunt Saddles used in the 2001 production of "Planet of the Apes"
The unique feature of this item is the "Push-Off" open stirrups which allow for a safe fall off of a horse without the risk of having your foot get hung-up, which would make for a risky and bumpy ride.

John Wayne/Dukes Saddle used on the Production of "The Comancheros"

In May of 2008, we responded to a phone call from an old timer that had worked on many a movie with actor John Wayne/Duke.
The wind had partially collapsed an old barn on his property and it was a real chore, but we were able to pull out of the rubble, one the saddles used by John Wayne in the Production of "The Comancheros".
The Saddle was given to this old timer after production was finished by the Duke himself.
We feel very fortunate to have been able to save this historic item and put on display for the public to view.
Although not in the best of condition, it is a welcomed treasure to have in our collection.
